And the Ready, Set, Slim! Challenge Winner Is...

All of our challengers did amazing this month and have seen great results, but there can only be one grand prize winner.

Congratulations, Amy! She lost a total of 9.1 lbs of fat, 7% body fat, and 16 inches in total!

Altogether, our challengers lost 130.5 inches, and gained 26.1 lbs of muscle in just 4 weeks! We couldn't be prouder of our Challengers!

Challenge of the Month: Toe Tap to Round House Kick

We recently launched Monthly Studio Challenges at Hers to give you an added boost to your regular workouts, and to track your progress!

On the 1st, 15th and 28th of every month, we'll be dedicating 1 minute of the class to the challenge!

Count your reps and share them with your Coach at the end, to get your name on our Progress Board!

Meet Our Members: Giovanna Medina

Q: When and why did you start kickboxing?


A:  
I joined Hers Kickboxing at the end of March 2018, during Richmond Hill’s soft opening. I had been looking for something fun to do to get out of the house and lose weight, so when this location opened close to where I live, I just had to try it out!

Q: What changes have you seen or experienced since you joined Hers?

Since joining Hers, I have felt better in so many ways. I feel healthier… no more huffing and puffing going upstairs! My overall mood is better, I am eating better, and I have more energy.

Q: What's one piece of advice you have for other ladies who are just getting started?  favourite motivational quote?

A: One step at a time. There are times when you may feel like you will never see the results that you want to see, but just keep at it and the results will come!


Q: What's your "why"?

A: I had gained a lot of weight over the last few years and I was tired of always having trouble finding clothes that fit, feeling uncomfortable in front of people, feeling tired, etc., so my goal is to get in better shape and feel better about my body.


Coach's Corner: Amanda Wong

I believe the foundation to becoming a good coach is to first become a student. I started out at HERS as a member learning the techniques and fundamentals of kickboxing. I quickly fell in love with the mental transformational aspect just as much as the physical benefits. As far back as I can remember I’ve always suffered from low self-esteem and kickboxing has really helped me break through all those mental barriers. Round by round, pushing myself to the limit and proving to my toughest critic (me!) that I can make it to the end is so powerful! Health and fitness has turned into a huge passion of mine. As a coach, I want to inspire you to become the best version of yourself by accomplishing your health and fitness goals. I want to motivate you and push you to new levels you never thought you could achieve. I want to quiet those voices in your head telling you that you can’t and be that driving force telling you that you can! I want you to leave each class feeling strong and empowered and ready for whatever life has to offer you.

Helping Hands: Noah's Club House


Our member, Brigitte Berneche, founded "Noah's Clubhouse", in honor of her late son, Noah, who suffered from severe Cerebral Palsy.

She runs ongoing events and fundraisers to help provide some financial assistance to families with children with special needs.
